Dear Goad Family,
We met your husband/father on a flight from Atlanta to Miami on Saturday morning. We sat right next to him on the plane. He touched our lives so much in the short time we got to spend with him. He told us about the trip he was taking and the good work he would be doing. We explained to him that we also would like to do mission work someday but have 3 small boys at home.
And I explained that I would be concerned about traveling to another country. Buy Perry told us that he was not worried at all. And that he didn't live his life in fear. His strong faith was unbelievable to us. What a shining example of a godly man. He spoke to us about you all. We could tell he loved his family very much and loved the lord!!!! We told him that we would like our kids to see how fortunate they are to live in this country by taking them on a mission trip someday. And he told us that he did that with his son and it was great. What an eye opener!! I found it so sweet that he was bringing gum for the children. I'm sure that he was able to touch their lives like he touched ours.
When we saw the news last night both my husband and I knew it was Perry that lost his life. We were both very sad. We are so sorry for your loss. We wanted you guys to know that it was a true gift to meet Perry. We only hope we can live our life loving and trusting in the lord as much as him. That hour and a half flight sitting next to him has changed us forever. And we are both very thankful that the lord let us meet your husband/father.
You are in our thoughts and prayers.
